Successful jockey in history of Grand National

When people look through the history of the Grand National it is the horses that are remembered for their iconic performances. Whether it be the incredible champion Golden Miller. He is the most successful Cheltenham Gold Cup horse having won the race for five consecutive seasons and is the only horse to have won both the Gold Cup and National in the same year.

A truly remarkable achievement and to further back this up he did it carrying a welter burden of 12 stone 2lb. There is of course the dominating era of Red Rum and his three victories that has enabled for the National to get to where it is today.

Looking to more recent times, the 2015 winner Many Clouds has to go down as one of the greatest winners of the contest. Firstly due to the fact he carried a weight of 11 stone 9lb which is the biggest since the previously mentioned Red Rum’s victory back in 1974. Also because he did this in a time of 8 minutes 56.8 seconds which is the fastest since Mr Frisk in 1990 which is also the record time in history.

You can bet on the Grand National with Paddy Power as the 2018 contest looks as competitive as ever. Money is continuing to arrive for the Irish horses Tiger Roll and Anibale Fly, who are now 12/1 and 11/1 respectively. So these are some of the star horses but what about the Jockey’s?
